Yes, this is correct. When you do start letting Garfield out, do it during the day where you can watch him. Start with 10-20 minutes at a time, and then gradually increase the amount of time until he is outside alone. Still bring him inside every night. Best of luck.

Great question! Yes, you are correct that moving is stressful for cats and it is recommended to keep them inside for a bit so they get used to their new home. I would have Oreo inside for a week to get used to the sounds and smells of her new home After a week, let her outside in the garden supervised during the day. This will allow her to get used to the smells and sounds of her new yard. Do this daily for a week, and then you can start letting her in the garden unsupervised during the day. I would still try to bring her back in at night. After a week of this, you can let her out as she wants. I hope this helps!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Anchovy. I agree with your decision. Moving is stressful for cats. If allowed outside, she could hide or get lost. It would be easier to start when you get into your permanent home. In the meantime, provide mental stimulation for her as she is probably missing being outdoors. A cat tree, new toys or play sessions every day can help. I hope this information helps!
