To treat a large wound of my cat, I put fresh aloe vera on the open skin (three times a day for two hours). The wounds healed within a week. Along with the aloe, I gave half of a dose of Megaderm, a fatty acids supplement (just for one day). After administering Megaderm, my cat started having diarrhea. He has never had diarrhea, although he is 13 years old. ¿Do the supplement or the aloe vera caused the diarrhea? The stool quality improves a little with psyllium husk but not the quantity.

Hello. I very much doubt the single half dose off the Megaderm caused the diarrhea, but aloe vera is a cathartic and ingestion of a lot of this can cause intense diarrhea. If this is the cause of the diarrhea, then continue the psyllium, and make sure Bipo is eating & drinking well. You do not want him to become dehydrated from the diarrhea. Do not use any more of the aloe vera on him. It is also possible that the diarrhea was caused by something else, such as a bacterial overdose or parasites & he may need to see a veterinarian for additional treatment. I hope he is well soon & thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
