Why isn't my EPI dog gaining weight? Does she need B12 injections?

Question

My dog is a Spitz mix. She developed EPI when she was 4 years old. Before she had this condition, she weight was 7kg. But now she weighs only 5.8kg. She does take LYPEX with every meal. I would like to why she doesn't put on weight. It it compulsory to give B12 injections for dogs with EPI? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 12 years and 5 months old | 12.78 lbs

Not all dogs with EPI require B12 inj or supplementation but I would recommend it for any dog which is not maintaining their weight despite treatment. I also recommend feeding a highly digestible, hydrolysed diet such as royal canin hypoallergenic in these patients as it requires much less digestion by the pancreas than other diets and can compensate for reduced function
