Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered
my dog has been gagging at least once a day since sunday. on the 1st day he gagged 4 times (that had happened once before a couple of months ago, but he started throwing up saliva which he isnt now, called his vet and she told us to stop exercise and food for 4 hours and reduce water and the next day he was fine). after that he only gagged once a day. he doesn’t show any other symptoms(like cough/lethargy/difficult eating/runny nouse). i’ve noticed this happens usually when he’s playing around.

That is somewhat unusual to see persistent gagging. You may check with your veterinarian to ask if they have checked his soft palate. Elongation in the soft palate can cause gagging. Allergies causing irritation to the throat can also cause gagging. Esophageal abnormalities are very uncommon but they can also present as gagging. I recommend to call your veterinarian and ask what diagnostics have been done and what else may be indicated. Best of luck.
