Thank you for submitting your question regarding Callie. She appears to have a small growth on her pad. I recommend that she sees her veterinarian. She could have a mass, a poorly healing wound or an area of irritation from licking. Her veterinarian will examine her and determine how best to treat the issue. In the meantime, do not allow her to lick the paw. She should wear an E-collar if necessary. I hope this information helps!

    Is Jase licking at it? I would recommend if she is licking at it put an elizabethan collar on her. If it is a growth then having a veterinarian look at it is not a bad idea or if the spot gets worse. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Our dog has a red bump or scrape on the top of her paw. She seems to be acting ok, just licking it a lot. We tried to clean it with peroxide and wrap it but she is trying to take the bandage off
It is hard to comment too much without a picture of the red bump/scrape. If she is licking it then I would recommend an ecollar over a bandage because the bandage can harbor moisture which can lead to infections. I would recommend getting an ecollar and calling your veterinarian in the morning to see if they can fit you in. This is not an emergency but I would have them check it so she doesn't make it worse by licking it. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

There’s a red blister like bump in between my dogs paw pads what is this
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This could be a benign or malignant growth. There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. I recommend you have Avery evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night!

I recently moved with my dog, and my roommate has other dogs. over the past few weeks my jack russell has had a small red bump appear on her paw, it docent seem to bother her but I'm worried because it grew pretty fast. I haven't gotten her spring va
I recommend to have Nellie examined by her veterinarian. Skin masses can be many things but red raised masses are especially concerning for a skin cancer called a Mast Cell tumor. Your veterinarian will need to collect a sample of cell to examined under the microscope to determine what this is and if further treatment is needed. I don't suspect this is related to the move or the other dogs. Have this checked out soon and best of luck.

Hello, My 10 year old boxer had a red bump pop up on his outer paw about 2 weeks ago. It has seemed to have gotten worse. He doesn’t lick at it and it doesn’t seem to bother him. My husband thinks he got bit by something, but I want to make sure it’

just discovered this on my 4 yr old shih tzu. He isn’t acting like he is hurt but he has a raw looking bump on his foot. Any clue as to what it could be? Should I take him to the vet? Picture should be attached. Thank you!
Thank you for submitting your question regarding your dog. I do recommend that he sees a veterinarian. The bump looks very raw. He may need an antibiotic or a topical cleansing solution to help it heal. He could have a small cut that has gotten infected or even have a mass that has grown there. Do not let him lick the area. Place an E-collar on him if necessary. I hope this information helps!

My dog has a mass on her paw
Ouch! With any new growth like this, it's best to have your vet take a look in person, as it isn't really possible to determine what is causing the growth just from a photo. Your vet can take a sample of the growth as needed with a fine-needle aspirate, or biopsy, to check what cell type is present and if the spot needs further attention. Other causes can be calluses from rubbing, scabbing from a wound or infection under the skin, or other issues. Until you can get to the vet, it's best to keep the area clean and dry and prevent Ginger from licking or chewing at it with an Elizabethan (cone) collar or sock over the spot. Monitoring it for any additional changes such as size, oozing debris, pain, etc, is also a good idea as these observations can help your vet narrow down the cause and best treatment plan.

My almost 3 year old dog has developed this growth on the top of her paw next right at her toe . It’s red and looks as if it’s scabbing. What sound it be?
This may be an abscess, a cyst or a tumor. You should have it examined by your veterinarian, as it is not possible to distinguish these by just looking at a photo. An abscess can usually be treated with antibiotics and/or be lanced, and a cyst can be evacuated. To identify a tumor, your vet may want to do a fine needle aspirate (he takes some material from the bump with a needle and then looks at it under the microscope) to determine whether the mass is concerning.

I found a bump on Roxys back paw yesterday and it was just white. Now it has the red spot. Do you guys know what it is? It doesn’t hurt her. I haven’t seen her lick it or bite at it.
This is a pad irritation, probably from walking on pavement on concrete. She may get a callus there over time. Since it's not bothering her I would try to keep her from walking on hard surfaces until this is no longer red. Keep an eye on it and if it becomes bigger, more inflammed or painful then bring Roxy in for an exam. At this point it's nothing to be overly concerned about. Our baby Layla is nearing 7yrs old female pug. I noticed that there is a lump of flesh that grew in between her paws (left-front feet). Is this a red flag? Please help. Thank you for the valuable opinion.
I recommend getting this checked by your vet. especially as it seems to have come up suddenly. Your vet will do an exam, probably a needle aspirate, where they sample some of the cells from inside the bump and look at them under the microscope to help identify what kind of growth it is. Based on those results, your vet will be better able to advise you on how best to treat it or if it needs to be removed surgically.

Hi, can I know what happen to my dog hand as I found that there is a lump on his hand. When I try to touch, he keep his paw away and he keep licking it. I feel like there is some pus inside and it swelling. Please help.
The bump you are seeing could be a mass, or it could be a skin lesion caused by bacterial, parasitic or fungal infection, dietary or environmental allergies or sensitivities, or could be a combination of the above. I recommend making an appointment to have your dog seen by your veterinarian to help determine the cause of the bump you’ve noticed and to make sure it is treated appropriately. The vet will likely want to look at a sample from the area under the microscope to determine what is causing the bump and to provide treatment. . In the meantime, if he is licking the area, I recommend putting an e-collar/cone on him to help prevent licking and reduce the risk of infection.
