My puppy won't eat her food. Is it medical or the wrong type?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 8 months and 2 days old | 12 lbs

Bailey is not eating her food. She wants to eat at like 11:00 pm when it’s time to go to bed. During the day she runs around outside. When we first got her she ate very well. Lately we switched again and she seems to like this dog food. What could be some medical reasons shes not eating? Could that be because we accidentally chose adult food for her before? One person suggested it was too strong for her. She’s now on Purina Lamb small breed puppy food which is her brand now...no more switching.

It could be a medical reason why Bailey isn't eating, and I would have her checked out by a vet to be safe. Don't keep switching her food, she won't be ready for an adult food until she is 12 months of age. Best of luck.
