My dog burned paw pads, limping. What should I do after aspirin?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | 4 years and 10 months old | 42 lbs

We think our dog burned her paws on a boat dock yesterday. They are not red, but the big pads on both front paws look like a layer is missing and she is limping a little. We've given her a 81 mg aspirin. Should we do anything else?

Please be very careful giving aspirin. Use these guidelines: ( https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/aspirin/ ) There is not much else you can do. Anything you apply topically she will likely just lick off or it will rub off when she walks. If the burns are severe she should see a vet. If they are not severe then they will probably heal just fine on their own. Just keep her walking on soft surfaces until they are healed.
