Why is my cat throwing up and losing weight but still eating?

Hello, Skeeter is having a lot of issues. We have always fed him dry food. And has always been Friskies. Never has had any problems before. And he has always been a big cat. Always weighed about 20 lbs. All of a sudden he started throwing up and losing weight. Probably lost 50 lbs in the last 3 weeks! Eating and drinking normal. What do we do??? Really worried!!! Skeeter needs to go see his veterinarian with in the next few days. Rapid weight loss is always concerning. Older cats can develop a variety of conditions which will cause them to lose weight including diabetes, kidney disease, hyperthyroidism or cancer. Less common causes are also possible. The doctor will need to run some blood samples and a urine sample. Be sure to bring in a fresh stool sample in case the doctor wants to check for parasites. Don’t wait as all of these conditions have a better prognosis if treated early. Best of luck.
