Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 2 days old | 2 lbs
Hi! My 3 month old kitty is sweet and healthy, we take her to the vet very regularly and they say she's doing fine. So, she got vaccinated against rabies on the 25th of April (she was 8-9 weeks or so) and then they said they'd vaccinate her again after about six months. Out of sheer curiosity--if the vaccine didn't work for whatever reason (is she too young?) should the kitty have been dead by now had she been infected with rabies? She's been with us for eight days and a month now and is fine.

The incubation period (time from infection to first symptoms) in cats is generally 3-8weeks but can be up to one year. The 6 month booster vaccine is recommended in order to maintain immunity and prevent future infection, it can be given earlier as a precaution if there is any fear she may have been younger or weak/debilitated when she got the first vaccine
