My dog ate chicken wings. Should I worry about mucus in her poop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My shih tzu poodle mix ate 5 chicken wings last night around 5. She has had 3 bowel movements with no blood but it looks like there is a mucas casing around her last bowel movement. Is this okay? She isnt showing any signs of lethargy

The mucous is not concerning at this stage but I would still be worried about the chicken bones causing a problem in the next day or so. Monitor her closely and if she starts vomiting, not wanting to eat or having bloody stools then she needs to see a vet ASAP.
