My dog's neuter incision is red and dark. When should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 14 lbs

hi so my dog teddy has been fixed for about a week and the wound seems to be darker and possibly more red than it was. i just wanted to know if this is something i should be seriously concerned about or wait till Tuesday when most vets open. the picture below is were the incision occurred.

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Teddy. From the picture you provided, the incision looks good, but if it has become darker and redder, than I would be concerned about it and have him seen by a vet today to be safe. I hope this helps!

    Thank you for submitting your question regarding Teddy. The incision does appear to be a bit irritated. Be sure that he is wearing an E-collar to ensure that he is not able to lick the site. As long as he does not have access to it to make it any worse, it should heal just fine. If it opens up or develops discharge, then he will need to see an emergency veterinarian. Otherwise, I recommend seeing his normal veterinarian on Tuesday to make sure it still looks good. I hope this information helps!
