Fleas jump on the body to feed, and then jump off. They actually live in the environment. You may just be noticing them on Marley when they are on the head because the fur is less sparse there. I can give you a flea treatment program for him. First, I would give him Capstar. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas within 30 minutes. Then follow up with a spot on treatment, such as Advantage or Revolution. This is a treatment that has to be used once a month. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash his bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home. Best of luck.

There are a variety of products you can purchase at the pet store to use on furniture and floors. Talk to an employee about which products work the best. Also make sure to adhere to the guidelines surrounding the use of the product. You will need to remove the dogs from the house generally for a few hours. My advice would be to do a lot of laundry and vacuum/sweep everything you can including the areas where the dogs sleep. Do this every other day and make sure to empty the vacuum in the outside bins. It will take 6 months before your fully get rid of the fleas. best of luck!

Poor Ozzy sounds so itchy! This itching can be caused by fleas, mites, ringworm, or allergies. If he isn't up to date on his flea treatment, I can give you one for him. If he is up to date on his flea treatment, I recommend taking him into the vet for an exam today or tomorrow. The vet can do blood tests, skin scrapings, and use a Wood's lamp to diagnose allergies, mites, and ringworm. Once the cause of the itching is found, the vet can prescribe the appropriate treatment. Best of luck.
