Puppy: 8 weeks of age: DA2PP 12 weeks of age: DA2PP booster 16 weeks of age: DA2PP booster and rabies Optional vaccinations: bordetella (for kennel cough) and leptosporosis; speak to your vet about if you dog has a lifestyle that will make him need these vaccinations. Kitten: 8 weeks of age: FVRCP 12 weeks of age: FVRCP booster, leukemia 16 weeks of age, FVRCP booster, leukemia booster and rabies

He should receive the Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine if you plan to take him to dog parks, the pet store, boarding facility or around any other dogs. Also you should be sure that your pet doesn't need boosters on the DAPP vaccine, which is likely considering his age. Most puppies get their last set of vaccinations around 14-16 weeks of age. Pet typically only need 1 round of the Bordetella vaccine, which then becomes a yearly vaccination. If your pet is going to be going outside to use the potty, then the Leptospirosis vaccine is recommended, which typically is boostered 1 time. Core vaccines for cats are the FVRCP vaccine (rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia). This vaccine is started between 6-8 weeks and repeated every 3-4 weeks until the kitten is 16 weeks old (usually 3-4 shots total). Rabies vaccine is administered between 12-14 weeks. Vaccinating for FeLV is optional but recommended for cats that will be outside. This is commonly done around 12 weeks of age and repeated in 3-4 weeks. I also recommend deworming kittens at the time of each vaccine. Boosters of all vaccines are done again in 1 year.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Pd and Jacky are adorable! DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, Parvo and Parainfluenza) vaccines are started around 7-8 weeks of age and are given every 3-4 weeks until 2 are given past 12 weeks of age. So they usually get 3-4 DHPP vaccines. If they are over 12 weeks already then they should get TWO DHPP vaccines 3-4 weeks apart. The 2nd vaccine is good for 1 year. The following vaccines are good for 3 years. In the US the rabies vaccine is give around 12-16 weeks of age. I hope this helps and I wish you all the best!

Puppies should be vaccinated at 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age. They also should be dewormed every two weeks until they are 16 weeks old. With each set of vaccines, every puppy should get a DAPP vaccine. This is the vaccine that protects puppies against distemper and parvo. There are several other vaccines that your vet might recommend depending on what diseases are present in you area. Hi there! Congratulations on your new pup :) If she hasn't had anything done yet, she will need a vet visit for her first DAPP vaccine (for distemper, adenovirus, parvovirus, and parainfluenza) as well as a general wellness check-up. She should also have a fecal exam for parasites, and should be dewormed if any are found. She's also old enough to start on heartworm prevention if this is a problem in your area - the vet should be able to advise you if this is needed. After that, she will need to have her DAPP vaccine boostered every 3-4 weeks until she's 16 weeks or older. She will also need a rabies vaccine at 16 weeks. Other vaccinations, such as Lyme disease, leptospirosis, or Bordetella (kennel cough) may also be recommended depending on what is common in your area and her risk of exposure. Your veterinarian should discuss this with you at her check-up visit, and will let you know if any of these vaccines are needed.

A new puppy will need 3 rounds of the DHPP vaccine (distemper-hepatitis-parvovirus-parainfluenza) each round 3-4 weeks apart, and a Rabies virus vaccine given at 12-16 weeks depending on your state. At 6-8 weeks John would get his first FVRCP vaccine (feline rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia). Kittens get this vaccine multiple times, usually every 3-4 weeks until they have been given 3-4. The rabies vaccines is given sometime between 12-16 weeks. I hope this helps!

I have a nine week old puppy. If I start vaccinating now, would I use a 5 way and how many times?
At nine weeks of age the distemper combination vaccination series can be started (sometimes called a 5-way, sometimes called a DHPP or DAPP. This vaccine needs to be repeated every 3 to 4 weeks until your puppy is 16 weeks of age. I would recommend an examination by a veterinarian if your puppy hasn't had one yet and getting his vaccinations done by a veterinarian. There are a few reasons for this. The vet can examine your puppy to be sure there aren't any health problems/congenital disease that are a concern. The vet can do a fecal test to be sure your pup doesn't have intestinal parasites, which are very common at this age. The vet can also discuss other vaccines that may be appropriate for your puppy (such as the bordetella or kennel cough vaccine and the leptosporosis vaccine). You can be certain the vaccines given by the vet are gauranteed to be safe and effective (and purchased by a company that gaurantees their efficacy and will pay for treatment if there was vaccine failure)

Hi there and thank you for your post! Congrats on the new kitten! I'm sure she is cute! Vaccinations begin at around 6-8 weeks of age and go until 16-20 weeks of age. For food, I would recommend a soft food to start and follow the feeding guidelines for the particular kitten food you feed her. When she is old enough, I would look at getting her on a flea and tick preventative as well. Your vet there can also help you. Each vaccination series is spaced out by 2-3 weeks. I would schedule a vet appointment for 6-8 weeks of age to start. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Oh goodness, Kurama and the kitten are just adorable! At 3 months of age, it's the perfect time to give Kumara his second distemper/parvo combination vaccine. You may also consider bordetella (kennel cough), especially if he will be spending time around other dogs (grooming, boarding, dog park, etc) as well as leptospirosis, which has become more commonly seen in recent months in the northeast. At 16 weeks he'll get his final distemper/parvo booster, along with his rabies vaccination. You should also strongly consider a fecal test for parasites, as well as at least 2 deworming treatments. Your kitten will need 3 rounds of the feline distemper vaccine, starting at 8 weeks of age. Just like Kumara, she'll need rabies at 16 weeks. We are also recommending the feline leukemia vaccination for kittens, and also I recommend testing them for this disease as well as for feline AIDS.
