Why is my kitten's neck hole leaking milk after feeding tube removal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered

My kitten had surgery and had a feeding tube. However, almost immediately the kitten was eating so the tube was removed yesterday. Now when drinking cat milk, it dribbles from the hole in the neck. Is this a problem and if so what should we do?

Cannoli may need a light padded bandage over the incision while it is healing. I am concerned that if milk or food leaks through it, it could cause an infection and lead to further problems. I would call your vet and ask if you can have a bandage placed. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck.
