My dog's eye is matted shut with clear discharge. Is it serious?

Charlotte needs to see the veterinarian today if possible. Dogs can get ocular discharge for many reasons including infection, dry eye, uveitis, severe allergies or an injury to the cornea. All of these conditions can be potentially painful and they can also progress quickly. It’s best to get her checked out. Also make sure she’s not rubbing at her eyes as this could make it worse. She may need to wear an Elizabethan collar at all times. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious. Best of luck.
