Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 2 years and 10 months old | 14 lbs
My 3 year old Yorkie drinks lots of water. His urine is dilute. Urinalysis & bloodwork (incl. BUN & creatinine) came back normal. He had X-rays to see his liver & altho it was small, his bile acid test was also normal so liver problems are ruled out. The vet is now worried about his kidneys. She said she couldn't see them on the X-ray & wants to do an ultrasound. I am so scared. If she couldn't see them on X-ray does that mean they were so abnormally small they weren't visible?

Sometimes it can be hard to see organs on x-ray, and an ultrasound is great for visualizing organs. I would not get too worried just yet until you get the results of the ultrasound. I know that's easier said than done, but hang in there!
