My dog swallowed a sock. Will it cause a blockage or pass?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered

one time my dog swallowed 2 slip on socks. we had no idea until we found them on the floor, because he either pooped it or threw it up. this happened a year ago so i can’t remember if he was pooping/eating as normal. i didn’t have this app at the time so i tought i’d ask now: if a dog eats a sock, is it possible for him to still eat and poop as normal? wouldn’t the sock cause blockage (in case it didn’t come out yet)? and is it possible for a sock to be there for a while w/o any problem?

Good questions. So yes a dog can eat and drink if there is a sock stuck in the GI tract, it may take time for it to cause problems. I've seen cases where a dog has an obstruction for a very long time before it's caught. I hope this helps!
