Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Male | unneutered | 8 years and 7 months old | 21 lbs
He began limping on his right hind leg last weekend. It appeared better the following day. Then, he hid under the bed for two days. Wouldn’t eat, drink. We went to the vet and his limping became worse. He had X-rays, physical exam, and bloodwork. Now he’s limping on the front leg. He’s rotated almost all legs. Initially, the doc thought maybe it was his lower back, but now he doesn’t know. He was an absolute perfectly healthy miniature schnauzer a week ago & now he’s almost crippled. Wont walk.

Poor Samuel! It looks like your doctor is doing a good job on the work up but shifting leg lameness may need attention from a specialist. Conditions like this are rare and not common. The two of the more common reasons for this are Lyme disease or an immune mediated polyarthritis. Other causes are also possible. Samuel may need a joint tap or titers for diagnosis. I recommend to call your veterinarian again and let them know what you are seeing at home. The veterinarian will recommend the next most appropriate step. I hope Samuel gets this figured out quickly so that he can get appropriate treatment. Best of luck.
