Why is my dog suddenly restless, nervous, and can't sleep deeply?

Cookie was fine until around 5 p.m. yesterday, running around and eating snacks when all of a sudden, she kept looking around not being able to rest. I thought she saw a fly (she's scared of them and acts like this when she see them) but her behavior continued all night. She's eating, peeing and pooping fine. She even got excited when we went out for a drive last night but she just cannot rest or sleep deeply. She falls asleep for a bit and then sits up as if she's nervous about something/. Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | spayed | 8 years and 6 months old | 10.5 lbs

If only Cookie could talk! It’s impossible to know if this related to pain or anxiety. I recommend to play it safe and have Cookie examined by her veterinarian today. Make sure they check her neck, spine and anal glands. The doctor may also want to check her for a urinary tract infection as well. It’s best to play it safe.
