Why is my Shih Tzu panting, restless, and not sleeping after birth?

Hi. I would like to ask if there is something wrong with my shih tzu. She had just finished giving birth to three healthy puppies. The labor happened yesterday but till now, she is still panting and restless. She is eating and drinking and goes out several times to poop or to pee. I dont know whats wrong. Im concerned because she hasnt slept yet. Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | unspayed

It is concerning that Chichi hasn't slept yet. The panting could be due to contractions of the uterus. When the puppies nurse, it causes the release of oxytocin, which in turn causes the uterus to contract. Without seeing her in person, I can't say if she is ok or not, so I would take her and her puppies into a vet first thing in the morning. Best of luck.
