Why is my cat's third eyelid showing, tired, and over-grooming?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female

My cat was a stray, and we took her in. I've noticed her third eyelid is more pronounced than normal, she needs to lay down a lot while playing, and she licks/cleans/nibbles on herself a lot. What could this mean?

The pronounced third eyelid could mean CryBaby has an eye infection, and the licking herself a lot can mean she is itching, which can be caused by fleas, mites, allergies, or ringworm. It is concerning that she tires easily. I would take her into the vet in the morning for a health check. Best of luck.
