Dog paw wound: Why does my dog get aggressive when I try to treat it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Husky | Female | spayed | 1 year old | 70 lbs

I'm looking after my roomates dog, she has an injury on her back right paw-pad that is about 6 mm around. She gets very violent when trying to look or treat the wound it seems to be a bigger issue than my roommate let's on and any information that can be given about the issue would be an immense help, I have no prior experience in human or dog first aide.

If Eska is getting very violent when you try to look at the wound, I do NOT recommend you try to treat it. She could bite you, and you could get hurt yourself. The fact that she is acts likes this when someone tries to touch it tells me that it's really bothering her, and she has to see a vet. I would have your roommate bring her into a vet today. Best of luck.
