Dog hyper before bed? Vet visits, vaccines & ear care explained

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 4 days old | 10 lbs

How often should Mazie get check ups? How often does she need shots for the activities we will be doing like hiking and camping and going to dog parks? Should we be giving her an supplements with her meals? How often should we clean her ears & with what? My dog gets very hyper and aggressive right before bed and I dont understand why. Is there an explanation for that kind of behavior?

1. Mazie should get check ups yearly, and taken into the vet whenever she is sick. 2. She should get all the vaccines including DHPPi, rabies, leptospirosis, and kennel cough. Take her into the vet to get her vaccine course started, and the vet will let you know how often she has to come in for them. 3. No, she does not need any supplements. 4. I'd only clean her ears if they are dirty. I recommend using Epi-Otic, you can get it from her vet. 5. It could be she knows it's bedtime, and she wants to play. I'd take her for a long walk before bed to tire her out. I hope this helps!
