My dog's interdigital cysts keep coming back. What can I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 3 months old | 90 lbs

My dog keeps getting interdigital cysts. He's been on meds and I've been doing epsom salt foot soaks. They just keep coming back, he constantly licks at his paws, idk what else to do. Is there any quick fixes for it?

These are very frustrating cases and unfortunately there are no quick fixes for this! There are some medical conditions which can make the condition more likely which include demodex mites, chronic ringworm, diet sensitivities, thyroid disease, immune mediated conditions and allergic skin disease - diagnosis and management of these conditions can massively reduce the impact of the cysts. Skin scrapings, blood tests and biopsies can all provide clues as to underlying triggers
