My 6mth old labradoodle has had diarrhea since we got her. Seems to have a reaction to chicken. Have tried different kibbles, pumpkin, rice, raw mince. Nothing seems to work consistently. Will sometimes do a firm poo but not usually. Has had poo tested by vet. She is unsure what to do. Suggests cortisone injections possibly. Also metamucil. What to do? She is still gaining weight.

I don't think cortisone injections are recommended. Metamucil you can try but I don't think that is the final answer. I know the vet did a fecal test and I'm guessing it was negative since you didn't mention otherwise. A test can be negative but they can still have parasites. It is not a 100% accurate test. A puppy with diarrhea almost always has parasites. That is the top differential. I personally would try a probiotic for at least 30 days - a good probiotic made for dogs like Fortiflora. ( https://www.amazon.com.au/Purina-Fortiflora-Canine-Nutritional-Supplement/dp/B001650NNW ) If your vet has not done general deworming or tried treatments for protozoal parasites (ie: coccidia, giardia) then I suggest you speak to them about doing that as well. A food allergy is possible but without a definitive diagnosis I don't think you can count that as the problem. Especially if you have cut the chicken out and it has not helped. You can do allergy testing if you want to know for sure: ( https://www.allergytestaustralia.com/product/pet-allergies-test/ ) Hope this helps. Best wishes.
