Why did my cat die suddenly after a bath? Was it lung fluid?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 10 lbs

My cat threw up some water, went comatose and then passed away. Is it possible she may have gotten too much liquid in her lungs from a bath? She also pooped watery blood and had a little hair all stuck on her tongue

I am very sorry to hear that. This could be either due to an acute cardiac problem or respiratory one, but it is likely that the lungs filled up with fluid. A post-mortem examination would help to shed some light on the underlying cause of it.
