My lab Shepard cross is 5 months old and has been experiencing diarrhea for a few days now it seems to really occur at night and is frequent. We have tried home methods but nothing seems to work, it’s a normal colour and doesn’t appear to have anything in it, any ideas on what it could be from or how we can get it to be more formed?

Hello. Most diarrheas are self-limiting & as long as Wallace is bright & alert, eating & drinking well, I would not be too concerned. You might try switching him to a bland diet for a few days, 25% cooked chicken or hamburger with all fat removed, mixed with 75% plain white rice or low fat cottage cheese. You might also want to take a stool sample to your veterinarian just to make sure he has not picked up a parasite. If the diarrhea continues past a few days on the bland diet, or it turns bloody & Wallace acts at all unwell, please see your veterinarian. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
