Can I give my dog benadryl for an allergic skin reaction to fleas and what is the proper dosage if so. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 7 years and 4 months old | 100 lbs

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. You can give 1 mg per pound of body weight. So if Luci weighs 100 pounds, she can get 100 mg of Benadryl. This may make her drowsy, however. I recommend using a monthly flea preventative medication such as Frontline or K9 Advantix. I hope this is helpful!
