My small dog ate Meloxicam from another dog's food. Is it dangerous?

I have 2 dogs. One is 37 pounds and receives a 15ml dose of Meloxicam daily. My small dog, 10 pounds, got into his food earlier (which had the Meloxicam on it) and ate 1/4 to 1/2 of his food. Should I be concerned that he ingested some of the medication? (There was still some medication left in the bowl when I discovered he was eating it.)

As long as the smaller dog doesn't have any pre-existing liver or kidney issues, its unlikely that this will be a problem. Watch for vomiting, diarrhea, or decreased appetite, or lethargy; if you notice any of these symptoms, take him to the vet for an exam and bloodwork. Again, though, based on what you are describing, as long as Bean is otherwise healthy, I think its extremely unlikely that this will cause any issues.
