Why is my kitten getting messy after pooping in her litter box?

I have a question about my 4 month old kitten. It’s been a month since we got here, and we’ve been having this issue sometimes where when she goes to poop into her litter box, she sometimes doesn’t sit properly (sits too low) or after finishing she sit on her poop by mistake? So her behind becomes super messy as you can imagine. Is there any was to stop this? Like to re-train her or help her out while she’s doing her business?? Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | spayed

It might just be that Lucky is a little off-balance as she is growing. Changing the box type (higher sides, step in, etc) may help position her better, otherwise using a pet wipe to clean her bottom may help. If you suspect she may have an issue such as not being able to stand or walk properly that is causing it, a vet visit to rule out any issues is always a good idea.
