My dog ate pork rib bones and is vomiting. Is this an emergency?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 8 years and 2 months old | 42 lbs

My dog got into pork rib bones on Saturday evening. A few hours later he started panting. I thought it was because he was running around and was hot. Later in the night he started vomiting brown stuff with bone chips in it. Sunday all day he acted like he was feeling better. He had not had anything to eat all day so I tried to see if he'd eat a couple of my French fries which he did. Sunday night he vomited again brown stuff with bone in it and bits of French fries. He's vomit 4 times since sat

This is an emergency at this point. My best guess is that he either has an intestinal obstruction or pancreatitis. Regardless, he needs to be seen by a vet. This can be extremely serious so please get him examined right away. Both are life-threatening.
