My dog ate my social security card. Should I worry about blockage?

My dog ate my social security card, is he at risk for blockage? Should I take him to the vet?

I am sorry to hear about Enzo! If the card is paper it should not cause any problems. If the card is plastic, then in many cases they will pass small amounts of plastic that have been chewed with no problem, but it is best to observe Enzo for several days for signs of a blockage of the intestinal tract such as vomiting, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, lethargy, or straining to have a bowel movement. You can try feeding some whole grain bread that is high in fiber to try to help things pass along. If he does develop any of these symptoms then seek veterinary care. Best of luck to you and Enzo!
