Dog not eating after antibiotics. What food helps stomach and digestion?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Saint Bernard | Female | spayed | 130 lbs

Hey! I have a pet saint Bernard, who's 7 years old and she just went through an ovariohysterectomy for a case of open pyometra She's been on antibiotics for serval weeks, and it seems to have taken a toll on her stomach I force feed her chicken and some eggs, but she doesn't show any enthusiasm to eat. Can you suggest some foods to give her, to sooth her stomach and help with digestion? Some probiotics perhaps?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Coco. I would consider a prescription low fat diet such as Purina EN canned food. It is highly digestible palatable diet that easy on the gastrointestinal tract. You can also add Fortiflora as a probiotic. Most dogs like the taste and it can help repopulate her gut with good bacteria after the antibiotics. I hope this information helps!
