Why does my dog have a red, dry, blood-like mark on his inner leg?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 15 days old | 3 lbs

Noticed a sudden appearance of a red mark on inside of his leg. Doesn’t look like ring worm or some other time of skin infection or condition. Looks more like blood colour but dry to touch like it is under the skin or something.

This looks like a bruise. It's possible that Aero sustained some trauma to this area. If the bruise starts to get larger or if you notice any other spots on his belly, groin, inner ears, or gums you should see a veterinarian immediately as this could be a sign of a bleeding disorder.
