Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Male | 21 lbs
My Jack Russell has been diagnosed with IBD. He's 21 lbs. My vet has him on Metronidazole 2 ml (liquid form) twice daily and says he needs to be on this for the rest of his life. First, would this dosage be considered low? And secondly, I'm concerned about side effects of long term usage. He is 13 years old and otherwise very healthy. Finally, Could I lower the dosage or give every other day? Thank you!

It is a low dose based on Coby's weight. There can be long term side effects from using it. Do not lower the dose or give it every other day. It has to be given as prescribed in order to work. Best of luck.
