My old cat is lethargic, won't stand, and has crusty nose. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

11 year old cat. Severe lethargy doesn't want to stand. Keeps eyes closed. Did notice crustacean of the nose when I got her and she had several huge fleas. Vet doesn't open till morning. Freaking out. She's indoor cat. Not exposed to any poisons.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your cat. I recommend that she sees a veterinarian first thing this morning. Try to offer her small amounts of water to keep her from becoming dehydrated. She will likely need laboratory work to determine the source of her illness. Cats are unfortunately skilled at hiding signs of illness. So by the time they are visibly showing signs, they require immediate care. I hope this information helps!
