My dog ate a bay leaf. Will it make him sick? Are bay leaves toxic?

are bay leaves toxic for dogs? i keep mine in a bag but somehow sometimes one falls without me noticing, if charlie eats it will it make him sick?

1 bay leaf is unlikely to be an issue, but bay leaves have the could potential to cause some irritation to the stomach and intestine which may result in vomiting and diarrhea. If any symptoms develop it’s likely to be very mild if it’s only one bay leaf. Thanks for asking Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!

    If whole leaves are ingested they can be toxic to dogs. Signs of toxicity include vomiting, diarrhea, drooling, etc. If Charlie has eaten a lot of bay leaves, or is showing signs of toxicity, seeking veterinary care ASAP is best.
