My cat's behavior changed. Should I worry about sudden friendliness?

My cat was abused as a kitten, since then hes had a hatred for bald men. He's also hated wet food since he was a kitten, whenever I would pet him he would flinch. Lately when my dad, and my grandfather (both bald) visited they pet him and he allowed them, he didn't hiss like he tends to do, when I gave him wet food he ate it all, and the fact that now when I pet him, he happily accepts them, even bugs me for more. I'm worried about him because he's never been like this. What should I do? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 6 years old | 70 lbs
