My dog has a bump like a pimple that doesn't bother him. What is it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 6 years old | 45 lbs

What could this be? My other dog and him play a lot but this is more of a bump of some sort like a pimple. Doesn’t seem to bother him.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. This looks like a wart or possibly a keratin cyst. Both of these are benign growths in the skin. I recommend monitoring this bump over the next 1-2 weeks and if it increases in size or starts to bother Roscoe, it should be examined by a veterinarian. Otherwise, if it stays the same or goes away, I would not be concerned. I hope this is helpful!
