My dog's anal glands are bleeding after expression. Is this normal?

My dog has had his anal glands expressed twice in the past three weeks. He’s still having blood and seems irritated after having it two days ago. This morning there was still blood. What’s going on with him? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 70 lbs

When there is persistent inflammation usually an infection or possibly even a small tumor inside the anal gland tissue is suspected and should be ruled out as soon as possible.
