Why is my dog chewing blankets with back teeth? Is it normal, how to stop?

Pet's info: Dog | Staffordshire Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 100 lbs

My Staffordshire bull terrier always seems to be chewing a blanket rug but deep on the back of her mouth. Can you advise what it could be?

This sounds like normal mouthy behavior. The molars (back teeth) are used to grind with, so it isn't unusual in any way. If you wish to stop her from destroying blanket rugs however, I would recommend working with a personal dog trainer to help her divert that energy into something else. Also you can try giving her Kong toys to chew on instead to satisfy her mouth fixation. I hope that things work out well for your pet Ellie and her chewing behavior. Best wishes and take care.

Yes, some dogs like to chew on clothes. If the dog actually ingests the material it can cause an obstruction so I recommend you monitor her and try to discourage the behavior. When she is chewing on the blanket give her an appropriate dog toys to chew on instead.
