My dog ate a mango seed. Is it safe, especially after puppies?

Hello, my female cane corso ate mango seed hour before, there is no choking bafter she ate seed, I gave her dinner after that, now I am not worried about it , please help me, she gave birth to 12 puppies month ago.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Lisa. Mango pits are fairly large and have the potential to cause an intestinal obstruction. I recommend that she sees a veterinarian. X-rays will likely be taken. If the pit becomes lodged in her stomach or intestines, she will unfortunately need surgery to remove it. I hope this information helps. Good luck!

    Mango pits are a choking hazard and could create an intestinal blockage if consumed. The pit also contains cyanide, which is toxic to dogs. If he actually ate the pits then yes, this is an emergency. If he just chewed them, he may be fine. I think it is best you consult with your local vet. Typically Cherries do not have reports of causing toxicity or issues in animals. I would monitor Maia for vomiting and diarrhea. IF you see any vomiting and diarrhea I would take her to a vet for a food exam. However I think the likeliness she would have a problem is small.

My dog just accidentally ate a peach pit. What do I do?
Oh, dear! With peach pits, there are two main concerns: if it was chewed up quite a bit before swallowing, there is a chance of a toxicity issue since peach pits do contain small amounts of cyanide. If he swallowed it whole, it's very likely to cause an intestinal obstruction as it moves through his GI tract, which would require surgery. If he just ate it, I would recommend having him seen by a vet right away - he/she can give an injection to safely induce vomiting so that, hopefully, he will throw it up and you won't need to worry.

My dog swallowed an apricot pit. What do I do?
Hello. The biggest problem with an ingested pit is the possibility of an obstruction. Apricots are a bit smaller than some other stone fruits & your dog is quite large so I would opt for a watch & see if anything bad happens. Vomiting, loss of appetite, a painful abdomen are all potential signs of a problem, but I would guess that Moose will be fine. Can 12 pound dog eat a lychee seed ? She did and i am concerned if she will be ok
Lychee seeds are large and can cause cyanide intoxication (like most seeds), she is quite small so even one seed could potentially cause a toxic reaction. if this happens in the past 2-3 hours i would recommend taking her to the vet in order to have an injection to induce vomiting, better safe than sorry.

My dog ( 11.02 lb) ate papaya seeds . I'm not sure how many seeds, maybe 5-8 seeds. What should i do?
There are 2 concerns with papaya seeds. The first is that they contain very small amounts of cyanide. The amount is very small, so even a small dog would have to eat a large amount of seeds to have any problem with that. The second concern is the possibility of an intestinal blockage if they are not able to pass the seeds. This is certainly a concern in a small dog, so monitor Mondy closely for any vomiting, lethargy or inappetance and have him examined immediately if you notice any of those signs. Good luck! My 60 pound dog knocked over the trash can that had 3 peach pits in it. I saw two of them not sure if the third was in the can still or if she got any of it, they were kind of mushy being in the garbage since monday evening. How concerned should I be
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I would continue monitoring her closely for signs of a gastrointestinal obstruction such as vomiting, inappetence and abdominal pain. If this happens, have her evaluated by a veterinarian right away to check for this. While it is not too likely to happen given her large size, it is still a good idea to be pro active. If she does not develop any of these symptoms, she is likely going to be fine. I am hoping for the best!

My dog (70lb golden doodle age 9) ate about a handful of papaya seeds. I'm concerned that she will not be able to digest them, what symptoms should I watch for and for how long?
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Roxy is a large dog so I think that a handful should be ok. In large amounts they could cause an obstruction. Just watch for vomiting, lethargy and not wanting to eat. If any of those signs occur seek immediate veterinary care. Good luck!

My 100lbs Alaskan Malamute chewed on a nectarine pit, it doesn't seem like he swallowed any of it but The outer part was pretty chewed up. His vet is closed on weekends, should I take him to the emergency vet if he shows any symptoms?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco. There is probably nothing to worry about for Huxley. The poisonous part of the pits are contained in the inner kernel so unless the pit is cracked open and the kernel missing, im not worried about that. That gnawing probably resulted in only tiny bits -if any- of the pit being swallowed. A dog this size is unlikely to have problems with that. Of course he may have a sensitive stomach or have gotten into something else in the trash that would cause a problem. If you see more than 3 episode of vomiting, severe lethargy, or loss of appetite lasting more than 8 hours, see an emergency vet to make sure he’s ok. Best of luck to you and Huxley!

My dog just ate part of an avocado seed. It looks like she chewed it but I was able to retrieve the rest of it before she finished it. Is there anything I should be looking for?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! If she did not eat the avocado pit completely and you were able to retrieve most of it, this may not become an issue. However, it is still warranted to monitor closely for any signs that could be indicative of a gastrointestinal obstruction such as vomiting, inappetence and abdominal pain. If these are observed at any point, have Aqua evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible as that may represent a gastrointestinal obstruction which most of the time requires surgery. If this is going to be an issue, usually symptoms can show up to a week after the event typically. Some dogs do develop transient gastrointestinal upset with vomiting, diarrhea and inappetence when they ingest avocado so if she also ate the avocado per se then this may be an issue. If that is seen, have Aqua evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night! Hoping that nothing at all happens!
