Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 5 months old

Just notice dry nose with small cracks on it as seen in attach photo...so what is it exactly ? Is it normal to have this kind of nose Lsoni notice it first time and if it's not normal then what causes it ? Is it something serious or life threatening?

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. There is nothing wrong with a dry nose! This is a previous misconception that dry noses are unhealthy due to previously high incidences of Distemper. However, a dry nose is not of concern, and does not mean that Bruno is sick! As long as Bruno is acting normally - eating/drinking/urinating/defecating normally, I would not be concerned. I hope this is helpful!
