My dog's face is bleeding from a wound. When should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

So came back from a walk, realised she was bleeding from a leasion on her face, dont know why. No dog fights, only walked on grass. Maybe she scrarched it, i didnt see. Mixed .5 a traspoon of water in approx. 300ml of distilled water to imitate saline. Washed it out with that. Looks like cyst, no visible puss. Maybe just swelling. Cant feel the texture as it is too tender for her. Also long fur makes it hard to see what it is. Should i see a vet/when? Can i use human anticeptic spray/ ceam?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your dog. I recommend that she sees a veterinarian. The hair will need to be shaved to see the extent of the lesion. If she does not have a history of a traumatic wound, she could have an infected tooth. This can create an abscess under the skin that can rupture open. Her veterinarian will examine her and determine the best course of treatment. I hope this information helps!
