My kitten ate a bee. Can she digest it? Will the stinger hurt?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 8 months and 12 days old

My kitten caught and ate a bee. She didn't get stung from what I can tell (no swelling anywhere and she is eating and drinking okay). I'm just wondering if she can digest this and if the stinger would hurt her stomach at all?

It is not uncommon for kittens or cats to occasionally eat a bug. As long as she didnt get stung, she should "bee" fine. Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite vomiting or diarrhea. These are symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian.
