Is milky urine normal for a pregnant rabbit? Should I change her diet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 11 months and 1 day old | 14 lbs

We bred violet a week ago, we don't know yet if she took it not. She's still adjusting to living with us, and her urine is a light yellow and milky. Is this normal, should I change her diet, or something I should expect from pregnancy

Thank for reaching out about Violet. A white thicker urine is sometimes an indication of excess dietary calcium being excreted in the urine. Although, if she if pregnant, extra calcium is necessary for fetal bone development and lactation. You should hold off adjusting the diet until after kits are weaned. Good luck.
