Why is my dog rubbing her nose on the carpet until it bleeds?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 1 year and 7 months old | 19.4 lbs

My dogs keeps rubbing her nose all over my carpet so frantically causing a lil sore on the tip of her nose that bleeds a little. What causes that? She doesn’t have a specific spots. I have had to clean several little areas.

She may have been exposed to something that is making her itchy, a new cleaner in your house or something like that. I suggest giving her a bath with cool water and a mild dog shampoo, making sure to rinse her very thoroughly. If this doesn't help or if she starts rubbing again, I would get her in to see your vet to determine wi there is something else causing her discomfort.
