My cat's soft, smelly stool gets stuck in fur. How to firm it up?

my cat is about a year old and has had soft stool that smells bad and gets stuck in his fur easily for a while. he seems fine otherwise. how can I firm up his stool?

The first thing to do is get him in to see your vet to rule out any underlying medical condition that could be causing the loose stools, such as bacterial infection or parasites. If he is cleared medically, ask your vet about diet. Some cats have sensitive stomachs and they can benefit from some specialty diets your vet may carry. Some cats with chronic diarrhea do well on a commercial raw based diet, available at specialty pet stores.
