My dog has a red bump on her head, but seems fine. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Female | spayed | 2 years and 4 months old | 70 lbs

My dog has a small red bump on her head that has been there for about a week. She is drinking normal and eatting normal with normal bathroom habits and physical activity. There is no sign of pain. Is it anything to be worried about?

This looks like a histiocytoma but of course there is no way for me to know for sure just by looking at a photo. Histiocytomas usually will regress on their own. I would just monitor it and if it does not go away in a few weeks then you should have your vet examine it. ( https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4952066 )
