Pet's info: Dog | Rat Terrier | Female | spayed | 5 years and 6 months old | 17 lbs
lately my 5yr old rat terrier has been wheezy, sneezy and producing a lot of "eye boogers". my husbands seasonal allergies are through the roof this year as tree pollen has been extremely high & grass pollen counts are moderate, so im guessing she is being effected this year too? is there anything safe to give her OTC that will help manage?

Hi, and thanks for your question. That is likely to be due to a mild to moderate respiratory infection and conjunctivitis, probably secondary to an allergy or infection. A check up would be needed to confirm this suspicion and appropriate treatment might include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well (just in case).
