My dog has wheezing, sneezing, eye boogers. Is it allergies? OTC?

lately my 5yr old rat terrier has been wheezy, sneezy and producing a lot of "eye boogers". my husbands seasonal allergies are through the roof this year as tree pollen has been extremely high & grass pollen counts are moderate, so im guessing she is being effected this year too? is there anything safe to give her OTC that will help manage? Pet's info: Dog | Rat Terrier | Female | spayed | 5 years and 6 months old | 17 lbs

Hi, and thanks for your question. That is likely to be due to a mild to moderate respiratory infection and conjunctivitis, probably secondary to an allergy or infection. A check up would be needed to confirm this suspicion and appropriate treatment might include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well (just in case).
